The design inspiration for the church building was to provide a unique design that captures the sacred spirituality of Christianity and the progressive modernity of the United Church. To this end, an innovative hexagonal grid was used as the template for the design.

The focus of the design starts at the
Communion Table. Placed on the elevated Chancel Area, it is located at the centre of the building. The hexagonal configuration stretches out to six corners, creating various hexagon shapes in 12 foot modules. Three ring beams of different sizes and heights are elevated above the sanctuary area, buttressed by sloping ridge beams that support the roof structure.

Light valances are placed onto the bottom of the ring beams, creating hidden indirect lighting for the Worship Area. Also hexagonal in shape, the light valances are affixed to the bottom of the high sloped wood ceiling.

The project also includes an admini-stration wing, a social hall, a large commercial sized kitchen, and several classrooms.
